In 1994, The Danberry Treasure Chest was started by Lynn Fruth, Danberry's CEO, in the basement of the old Home Builders Association of Greater Toledo. $2,700 was raised the year of its inception. In the last 27 years, we've had the honor of raising over $1.4 million and helping thousands of local families. The Danberry Treasure Chest is an emergency assistance fund set up through the ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital Foundation. Every dollar is used to benefit families going through financial hardships while their child struggles with a serious illness. Funds aid in rent, utilities, housing, car payments, and other stressors that families face. Our goal is to help minimize monetary burdens to allow parents to focus solely on their child's care.
Unfortunately our main annual event, The Danberry Treasure Chest Auction, was on hold during 2020. But that hasn't stopped us from raising money over the last year. The Danberry annual golf outing is always a great time and this year we were able to raise $18,000 with the help of our wonderful sponsors. The Danberry Treasure Chest is also hosting the upcoming Solheim After Sundown Downtown which will take place in Hensville on August 31st. Tickets include access to the Solheim After Sundown Downtown event with live music, one drink ticket, and a practice round ticket for September 1st. Proceeds will benefit the Treasure Chest. Purchase tickets here or contact charities@danberry.com for more information on Treasure Chest donations. You can also donate here.
